Although this is indeed a barn owl, in the winter time it changes it’s plumage in order to be less noticeable. As I was stitching my Winter Snow Owl ornament, I decided to share a few photos of my finishing ideas with you to give you a visual of some possibilities you might be interested in. You may wish to use my suggestions or you might have a different idea than what I have, either way have fun and please share your ideas with me!!!
Winter Snow Owl was cross stitched on 32 Count Storm by
Picture This Plus Company. This design is primarily cross
stitched over 2 threads using 2 strands of DMC floss. Petite
Point was also used for and around the owl’s eyes down to her beak to give the owl more definition. Petite Point was also used for the snowflakes circling around the owl’s head. The black circle symbols are used as a marker for placing a Mill Hill #42010 Petite Glass Bead on the snowflakes.
