Design #1 to "The First Noel" series
I used a small piece of 40ct from Zweigart® cross stitching one over one. You can use most any snippet of linen, in any count, from your stash. This ornament looks just as rich on 28ct over one as with the 40 ct. To make this heirloom Christmas ornament as realistic as possible a large variety of DMC shading is required. This pattern can also be done in Continental Stitch. When stitching smalls I use a small scroll frame because it’s light weight and easy to handle. In the package you will find the pattern, color chart with symbols, instructions, beads, and a camel charm.
Design Count: 120”w by 120”h
Design Size: 40 Count Linen, 3”w by 3”h
Can also be done in Continental Stitch
Other Design Sizes: 36 Count, 3-1/4”w by 3-1/4”h
32 Count, 3-3/4”w by 3-3/4”h
28 Count, 4-1/4”w by 4-1/4”h
List of items needed to complete the ornament
Acid free mat board
Velvet for backing (I used red)
Glue that dries clear
Gold tassel
Gold cording
Gold thread
“The First Noel Series”
complete 1. The Three Wise Men
complete 2. Journey to Bethlehem
complete 3. Keeping Watch
4. Hark! the Angels – Not yet released
5. Waiting for the King – Not yet released
6. Emanuel – Not yet released

Not everyone enjoys doing their own finishing as I do, which is fine. If finishing your smalls is not your favorite thing, why not check out my web site under Finishers Tab.
