ABOUT US
Welcome Cross Stitch and Needle Enthusiasts!
My name is Marie. I was born in Châteauroux, France; a small village a few hours south
of Paris. My Father was in the military and met my Mother while stationed in France. I was
raised in Virginia where I met my husband and happily took on the roles of wife, homemaker
and Mother. My family loves the historic areas of Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg, the old
plantations as well as the proximity to the beaches and mountains.
I learned to stitch after developing a great interest and passion for needle working at a very
young age. My mother and Aunt sewed originally embellished garments, and they happily took time
to teach me their craft. I stitched waiting for the school bus, riding to and from church,
waiting at the doctor's office ... and so on. Appreciation of the art, beauty and hard work in
creating needlework is a skill I now do full time and I hope it will be passed on to my family,
friends and passionate enthusiasts for generations to come. I have always loved designing my own
pieces, and my friends urged me to share my designs with the world. Thus, Blackberry Lane
Designs LLC was born in 2008.
I hope you enjoy stitching my designs (even if they've been altered) as much as I have
enjoyed creating them for you. Please don't hesitate to send me photos of my pieces you've
